Teaching Philosophy

Music is for everyone. The best way to LEARN music is by DOING. In my classroom, students take an active roll in their learning. Students will be exposed to many kinds of music in various ways, whether its singing, moving, playing, listening, creating, or evaluating. My goal is not for students to be perfect, but that they become lifelong lovers of music. I want students to grow to feel confident to take risks. Through music, students will develop our district's core values: Growth Mindset, Perseverance, Collaboration, Mindfulness, and Integrity.
